Return for more Youthful Fantasies Brought to Life.

Have you ever fantasized about decorating a dollhouse with perfume and vanity items? Two of our IPBA members have actually created them. Helen Farnsworth’s four-story dollhouse is pictured to the right, and Carol Caslow’s dollhouse is pictured above (and described in detail in an article in PBQ Fall 1998). The advantage of a fantasy dollhouse decorated with items from our Virtual Museum is that we don’t have to worry about relative sizes! So how could we furnish and decorate our fantasy dollhouse?

Our Formal Parlor might contain a fireplace with mantle clock, an armchair, tables, lamps or candlesticks, a magazine rack, a small perfume bar, radio, and a piano, organ, or gramophone.

The Gentleman’s Study might contain a perfume bar, shelves, armchair, lamps, globe, telescope, telephone, typewriter, poker chips, grandfather clock, ship in a bottle, pipe, sports trophy, set of golf clubs, and umbrella.

The Lady’s Suite might contain a vanity table and chair, bed, secretary, armoire, loveseat, pink grandfather clock, lamps, and a dressmaker’s form.

The Children’s Nursery might contain a rocking chair, pink dollhouse, cindarella coach, jack-in-the-box, toy planes, stuffed animals, and a rocking horse.

The Kitchen/Pantry might contain a tea cart, teakettles, cannister and an egg cup.

The Ballroom might contain the Art Deco perfume bar at one end, an orchestra pit at the other with piano, cello, harp, and possibly other instruments from our SOUNDS AND PERFUMES SWIRL IN THE EVENING AIR fantasy. The center of the ballroom would be filled with a number of dancers from our DANCING THE NIGHT AWAY fantasy.

Out back, the Patio might have a palm tree, flower cart, fountain or wishing well, watering cans, bug sprayer, tricycle, and dog house with dogs.

Out front on the Corner might be a street sign and signal.
