IPBA Hospitality in Tuscany: The Second IPBA Italia Collectors’ Gathering in Prato

The warm spirit of Tuscany embraced members of IPBA Italia on May 16–17, when the group held its second national collectors’ meeting in the historic city of Prato. Hosted at the Art Museo Hotel, the event brought together enthusiasts from across Italy for a weekend dedicated to perfume bottle history, friendship, and community.

This edition of the gathering stood out for its exceptional organization, led with remarkable dedication by Luisa Romeo and La Susie, whose coordination ensured a seamless and memorable experience for all participants.

A Warm Welcome and a Moment of Recognition

Participants began arriving throughout Saturday afternoon. After a light dinner, the group gathered for an informal evening session where Monica Magnani, President of IPBA Italia, welcomed attendees and introduced the weekend’s program.

The emotional highlight of the evening was the presentation of a special trophy to one of Italy’s most longstanding collectors, Pina Cavazzoni, honoring her decades of passion and contribution to the perfume bottle community.

A Vibrant Collector’s Market

Sunday was dedicated to the much anticipated Collector’s Market, which brought together a lively mix of sellers, collectors, and curious visitors. Tables filled with vintage perfume bottles, compacts, miniatures, and rare treasures created an atmosphere of discovery and enthusiasm.

The market served not only as a space for buying and exchanging items but also as a moment to strengthen friendships and build new connections — an essential part of the IPBA spirit.

A Growing Community

One of the most encouraging outcomes of the weekend was the enthusiastic response from participants: Most attendees chose to become official IPBA members, bringing the Italian chapter to 15 active members who will now enjoy the benefits of belonging to an international organization dedicated to preserving and celebrating perfume bottle heritage.
