IPBA’s 36th Annual Convention will be held
April 25-28, 2024
Newport Harbor Island Resort
1 Goat Island Road
Newport, Rhode Island
See our Save The Date page for transportation and hotel reservation information.
Arrive Early and Stay Late: we have pre-convention tours of the Newport mansions lined up, and more tours in the planning stages.
Convention begins on Thursday, April 25th with the Orientation Meeting for First Time Attendees meeting their Mentors and the IPBA Board of Directors at 12:30 pm.
Convention pins will be available at the Welcome Desk and during Convention registration.
The design is based upon “Parfum de Mon Château d’Azur” by Tokalon.
This is followed by six informal learning and sharing sessions on various perfume related topics. Our Vanity Table Talks have been renamed “Collector’s Sessions”. This year the topics will include:
Silver Hallmarks Facilitated by Joyce Geeser and Susan Arthur
Guerlain Facilitated by Jin Liu
Opera Bottles Facilitated by Mary May Roberts
Dance Cards Facilitated by Federico Santi
The Compacts of Société Montral, Paris Facilitated by Howard Melton
Thursday evening is the Grand Opening of The Perfume Bottle & Vintage Vanity Show and Sale!
IPBA’s Vice President, Dawn Fleming will be entertaining us at the piano. Let’s adorn ourselves in a special outfit, be it contemporary cocktail attire, gowns in the fashionable Victorian, Edwardian or Gatsby style, an ensemble for a yachting adventure, a uniform for polo/tennis/golf, or a party frock.
Let’s celebrate being together. Let’s have fun!
We’re putting extra effort this year into expanding the number of vendors in the showroom. If you are interested in being a showroom vendor, please contact Andra Behrendt, Show Chair, at: [email protected].
The Perfume Bottles Auction will be live and in person Friday April 26th, with auction lot viewing earlier in the day.
Ken Leach, as usual, will provide an auction filled with spectacular perfume and vanity items! Nick Dawes will be back with us to call the Auction.
Both Friday and Saturday are filled with learning, sharing and buying opportunities — morning, afternoon and evening. Events will include our IPBA Annual Meeting, Keynote Speaker, our Collector’s Market, and additional showroom hours.
Treasures Found: The final day is Sunday, April 28th. The day starts with your perfume bottles and vanity items taking center stage. Need to know what it is? Who made it? The date range? Find this and more from the panel of experts and the audience.
Organized by Susan Arthur, Treasures Found is one of the highlights of the convention.
Plenty of shopping is still available on Sunday as The Perfume Bottle & Vintage Vanity Show & Sale is open until 2:00 pm, when the convention officially ends.
Don’t miss out on the full convention experience! Arrive Early. Stay Late.
