April is not far away, nor are the major airports servicing Newport.
Providence, RI T. F. Green International Airport (PVD) is 33 miles NE of Newport with buses and taxis available to transport you to the hotel. It’s about a 45 minute ride via car service or taxi.
The following airlines service PVD: Delta, Southwest, Breeze, AA, United, Allegiant, JetBlue, Sun Country
Cities served to and from PVD include: Atlanta, Baltimore, Charleston, Charlotte, Chicago Midway and O’Hare, Cincinnati, Columbus, Detroit, Ft Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Jacksonville, LA, Miami, Minneapolis/St Paul, Nashville, Newark, New Orleans, NY LaGuardia, Norfolk, Orange County, Orlando, Philadelphia, Raleigh-Durham, Richmond, Sarasota, Tampa, Washington Dulles, Washington National and West Palm Beach.
NOTE: UBER has minimal service to Newport at this time of year, and LYFT does not service the area.
From Boston Logan International Airport (BOS): Boston is 74 miles N of Newport. Logan Airport has a combination of train, bus and/or ferry to bring you to the hotel.
At the airport, take the Silver Line bus (route SL1) for a 15-20 min ride to South Station/AMTRAK. At the station, go up the escalator and enter the AMTRAK rail station. It is about a 1-hour ride to Providence. Next, you have a 35-min car ride from Providence to the hotel in Newport.
NOTE: The Silver Line is free from Logan Airport to South Station. (For the Reverse Trip you pay $2.40 one way.) The bus runs well but allow extra time as Boston traffic can throw off their regular schedule (along with plenty else).
If connecting in NY JFK: NYC is 180 miles SW of Newport. You have two options:
- Buses and trains will take you from LaGuardia or JFK to Boston.
- Change to LaGuardia airport and hop onto a flight to PVD, followed by a car service or Taxi.
Newport is near the wonderful destinations of Providence, Mystic Seaport, New London and Woods Hole.
