The IPBA Virtual Museum continues to grow its collection of perfumes, compacts, powder boxes, purses, vanity items, and related ephemera. But 9,000 items is just a drop in the bucket given what is out there across all these categories. So please keep contributing items to our Virtual Museum!
Rare opaline scent bottle in the form of a horn. Its elaborate Arabesque/Persian design is the work of Oscar Pierre Erard. It was created with gold paste and enamel with appied cabochon glass stones of turquoise, moonstone, sapphire, and coral. The bottle is fitted with a silver mount with hinged cover chased with flowers and leaves, and an inner glass stopper. The silver is fully hallmarked for London, 1885.
