Fresh off the press, the book “Parfum d’Eventail” by Philippe RAYMOND with preface by Jean-Marie Martin-Hattemberg, perfumery expert.

This work is dedicated to advertising through the fans of the 19th century to the present day. It traces, through its many illustrations, the saga of the various perfumeries and fashionistas who called on renowned illustrators to promote their perfumes. It includes more than a century of history, tracing the evolution of advertisers’ communication and attempts to capture the attention of an increasingly greedy clientele.

At the beginning of the 20th century, sporting achievements were sold and great inventions were celebrated. Nowadays, brands play on the event and the promotion strategy is oriented towards a neat design where to stand out, you always have to be innovative.

This soft cover book has a total of 160 pages, with 350 fans listed! Included are advertising fans for L.T. Piver, Guerlain, Christian Dior, Paul Poiret, Ramses, Bourjois, Gellé Brothers … the results of over 40 years of collecting fans, both French and foreign.

Whether you’re a collector of fans, perfume bottles, or just curious, this richly illustrated book will make you want a new collection theme!
